Matson Construction offers site work, underground utilities, and construction services to commercial and industrial sites in the Spokane, WA area.  The initial design brief described the need for a simple, memorable logo/brand that conveyed a solid “whatever it takes” attitude and established Matson Construction as a growing leader in the industry.

Below are some examples of the brainstorming that went into developing the logo/brand. Here are some of the initial sketches. Ultimately the client decided on one of my earliest, simplest sketches.

After some concept refinement, we settled on the final mark:
